There's a new way to connect people with diabetes who take insulin with assistance programs. It's a new website from Beyond Type 1 and, of course, it's not without controversy. GetInsulin.org launched earlier this month, so we asked Thom Scher, the CEO of Beyond Type 1 to come on the podcast. Thom explains what the website is all about, why they started it and how it works. He also answers our questions about why Beyond Type 1 accepts money from insulin makers, what that means for this program and why they teamed up with groups like the NAACP to get the word out.
