Legislation that would allow the UM Board of Curators to acquire, manage, purchase or sell hospitals and medical facilities in 25 counties is getting skepticism from a veteran mid-Missouri lawmaker. State Rep. Kent Haden (R-Mexico) is a longtime Mizzou supporter and still is. He wanted Columbia-based MU Health Care to reopen closed hospitals in Fulton, Mexico and Boonville and wonders if they are eyeing rural hospitals in Moberly, Macon and Marshall.
