Lance Hoppen joined Orleans in 1972 with his brother Larry before they released their debut album. By 1976 they had two top hits with "Dance with Me" and "Still the One". Since 76 the band has fallen apart, and reformed, fizzled out and sprung back to life more times than is worth counting. But over the last 14 years Lance has been leading the band playing great shows around the country. Orleans is getting ready to play the Florida Theater on Friday July 24th and before they do Lance was nice enough to stop by the show! Lance and Doc talk about growing up playing the clarinet, seeing the Beatles, switching over to the bass, joining Orleans when he was 18, recording "Still the One", touring with Jackson Browne, playing Boston in '77 in front of 150,000 people, playing Woodstock '94 in front of 150,000 people and releasing a new album!
