The biggest news in weeks came out Tuesday morning when the Winnipeg Jets announced that they had reached a new 5 year contract extension worth $41.25 million with their captain Blake Wheeler. The contract will make Wheeler the highest paid Jet, and will take him until he is 37. There is obviously some concern when paying a 37 year old player $8.25 million.
