Wherein we meet many different iterations of people from around the globe who believe, and act as if, they were actually descendants from the line of the last Tsar of Russia, Nicholas II via the daughter that was rumored to have escaped the family's slaughter at the hands of the Bolsheviks in July 1918. While modern forensic evidence has now shown conclusively that Anastasia most definitely did not escape the fate of her family, the idea that one might/could be/is descended from Russian royalty is certainly an intoxicating one, and the series highlights how that intoxication drives those who believe it to some very odd situations, in which hilarity does not always ensue.
