As I’ve mentioned several times on this program in recent weeks, the Minnesota Vikings are my pick to represent the NFC in Super Bowl LIII. Last season, despite having a journeyman caretaker under center and losing their star rookie RB to an early season-ending injury, the Vikings rode their supremely-talented, championship level defense and brilliant coaching all the way to the NFC Championship, where their hearts were broken by the eventual Super Bowl champion Eagles. This spring, GM Rick Spielman made the necessary moves to help ensure that the Vikings will take that next step. They drastically upgraded the QB position by signing Pro Bowler Kirk Cousins in free agency, re-signed several key pieces of their talented young core to long-term deals, and potentially made their defense even scarier in both free agency as well as the draft.
