The Human Rights of Queer Muslims

Informações:

Sinopsis

LGBTQI Muslims live in fear in much of the Muslim world, where being queer is a crime and the penalty is sometimes death.  Even in the west, queer Muslims must hide in the closet in many traditional mosques to avoid denigration.  Joining us from Muslims For Progressive Values, Shahla Khan Salter will examine the early days of the Prophet Muhammad, when sexual diversity was acknowledged and no one was persecuted for their sexual preferences. She will explore the message of Islam from a perspective of universal love. This talk was given as part of a special service in celebration of Gay Pride Day.
