In this episode of Rise Up, Bengaluru!, RJ Divya speaks with Jacob Cherian about Ploggers. 'Plogging' is a Swedish phrase that became popular in 2016. It is inspired from the Swedish words 'plocka upp' and is a combination of the words - jogging and picking up litter. Plogging works very well in the wild and on beaches. For Jacob, it started at Kodaikanal where he has a small house by a forest. "Once, I saw a heap of waste and some animals were eating into it. So I started clearing it up; it has just continued and more people have joined the effort." Jacob also threw a party called 'Plogging Party' which close to 30 people joined. Now, whereever he and his friends travel to, they share the news of plogging.
