The RAFT strategy was initially designed for writing assignments but I believe it can be used for much more. RAFT stands for Role, Audience, Format, and Topic. It allows for student choice when deciding how they will complete the assignment. RAFT assignments are certainly in line with Universal Design for Learning principles.
