The short answer is yes and no. Deadlines can create high levels of stress and pressure. A better goal is to set a daily goal to write so many words or use so much time each day towards achieving your goal. Each step can require more or less time than you think. So, don’t bind yourself ever to a goal that isn’t achievable. Rather, set a time limit that you will work on your book project each day. Also, choosing a time each day you will do the work can be very effective.
