In a world that routinely shuts down, dominates, gaslights, harasses, and demeans people of color, you’d think Black folks would not be interested in power play. Well, you would be wrong. “But I never see any Black folks in the kink world!” Maybe that’s because when we see representations of kink in movies, online, on the “adults only” magazine rack behind the slushee machine at a gas station, we typically see 50 shades of white people. Sadly, we exist in a world that treats whiteness as a default. Orrrrrr, when you finally do see people of color, it’s often because they’re being fetishized by white people.
