I've recently started practicing and training again for some upcoming Motocross events.. and I noticed a pretty amazing correlation between goal setting,, preparation and mindset when it has come to my dealings with any type of athletics, extreme or otherwise .. There is a mindset that when applied to goals.. or achievements is perfectly acceptable... honorable even... That you should take your practice session or event ... do your best,, stay in the moment, revisit it when you are finished and at first focus only on the positive things that happened... What did you do right >?? Celebrate it .. raise your vibe and mood.. and put yourself in a mindset to view the things that need to improve .. View the things that need to improve with an objective perspective with the "goal" being to always focus on the way to do it better or achieve the desired results.. Remove your ego... Don't allow limiting beliefs or a conversation that does anything other than offer positive take aways from the entire experience ...
