Emigrating with a visa from Syria, Danny and his family originally arrived to Boston, and immediately moved to Florida because of the weather. “My mom just broke the news to me” - Danny confronted a harsh reality when wanting to find a job, and his hopes and dreams to be involved in the US political system changed immediately. Upon looking to attend college, he was told that no college would accept him, until a woman he met by chance told him about attending community college.
