Through a little Fernado story-time, we learn a little more about Fernando's life with Hugh and Gallowglass. We observe how Sarah's garden plays a major role in her work as a witch. We witness what an advocate the House is for Sarah's well being (it has a funny way of showing it!) All appears to be well, until Diana discovers the crossroads on her aunt's property. Voices of the dead, the pull of the moon, and the dark powers that beckon her -- all of these things frighten Diana to her core. The real scary part is the epiphany that she actually wants the knowledge/power, and believes that Matthew will hate her for it.
