Paradelphia Radio: Ep. 281 - The History of Humbug

Sinopsis

In the early decades of 19th century England a young boy lived in abject poverty and bore witness to the evils of a society hell bent on keeping the lower class in its place under the heel of the wealthy. Eventually that boy grew up to become one of the world's most famous authors and he often wrote scathingly about the injustice in the class society of Victorian England. Arguably, his most famous story dealt with forces of the supernatural putting a miserly old banker named Ebenezer Scrooge in his place and showing him the err of his ways. The novella, "A Christmas Carol" won Charles Dickens critical acclaim but also helped usher in a new appreciation for the Christmas season and with it, the idea that just maybe money and social standing weren't as important as charity, empathy and love.    Happy Holidays and Happy New Year from our Paradelphia Crew to all of our awesome viewers, listeners and fans!!   The Man Who Invented Christmas Toxic Radio
