This week we are learning all about positive affirmations: what they are, how they work, and our experiences with them. This is probably not the first time you’ve heard about affirmations, but just in case, the basic idea is that you repeat a phrase or mantra to yourself (or have a trusted friend repeat them to you!) until your brain replaces a negative thought you have about yourself with the positive phrase. We are really intrigued by the science behind affirmations and are interested in using them on ourselves (if we can get over talking to ourselves out loud in the mirror) and also with our children.
