This week we saw online investment traders stop trading of certain stocks and some of the story involves hedge funds and their bet against these stocks. The question that we are asking is why was the stock trading stopped on certain stocks? Was there a liquidity problem? Was there an issue that hedge funds were losing money on their bets in the market? And who gave the investment houses the right to stop the trades, the legal question is was there a criminal action not in compliance with investment rules, namely the SEC? Does an investment house have the legal standing to stop trades? The actions strongly appear to be unethical decision making based on others unethical needs. Don't get the Whitehouse or Congress involved. This responsibility lays on the steps of the SEC, rules and regulations are already in place so we need to focus on the rule of law.
