Show Notes: NSMA moved to Winston-Salem 2-years ago and Winston-Salem has an underrated sports vibe Growing up in Boston, Dave remembers reading the sports section at an early age and always loved the stories much more than the stats Has always loved how sports connects people together and the stories behind the games do just that After graduating from Syracuse University, he would eventually make his way to Providence, RI before finally getting an opportunity to be a sports anchor in 1988 at WXII in Winston-Salem Loved being a reporter much more than anchor because as a reporter you can create stories Hockey is his favorite sport and covering the Carolina Hurricanes after their Stanley Cup win is still one of his greatest thrills Loves teaching as a professor at Wake Forest University and bringing in guests to help develop the next generation of sportscasters and sports reporters Words of Wisdom from Dave Goren: "It's not who you know, it's who knows you."
