When Jim sees an ad for a house for sale in the country, he and Muriel drive up to see it and decide to buy it. When they later hire an engineer to inspect their house, his advice is to tear it down and build a new one. The Blandings, however, are not to be deterred -- and soon discover their dream house has turned into a money pit!
