The scuffle centers around two life size Transformers, Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, placed in front of his Prospect Street house. Neighbors complained and the ANC (neighborhood commission) tried to get them removed using a property lines violation and claiming they devalued the historic district. The giant robots are just a few blocks from Georgetown University, where he is a professor in computational neurology and functional neurosurgery. People from all over the region have come to see the statues. The joy it brings to children is one of Dr. Howard’s favorite things he shared on the Tommy + Kelly Show. Dr. Howard is not giving up.
