Medicaid is a publicly-funded health insurance program that currently covers 74 million people in the US. Medicaid covers low-income people who are children, expectant mothers, people with disabilities, senior citizens, and some adults. Opportunities exist through Medicaid to address the social determinants of health through a variety of vehicles.
