I return to the Silver Spoons Podcast and cover one of the most unimpressive episodes of Silver Spoons I’ve seen so far. This is what I’d like to call a filler episode. I get that we need something funny and maybe a little goofy after last episode’s seriousness with Edward in the hospital, but did it have to be so slap stick? Of course I’m talking about S2E5: Mr. President, which aired on November 19, 1983. In this episode after being elected student body president, Ricky has to deal with a rival school's vandalism, and daydreams that he is the President of the United States. Also in this episode we get in Ricky’s fantasy Edward in a fat suit and super fake mustache portraying a Russian Ambassador Yuri with a horrible, possibly offensive by 2019 standards Russian accent, Kate as Miss Winters in a leotard and President Ricky shames Chief Of Staff Derek for treating women as sex
