Sinopsis

On this week's episode of Eight One Sixty on 90.9 The Bridge, we dive into KC hip hop. We’ll hear brand new and recent releases from these acts: STEDDY P., Kadesh Flow, Duncan Burnett, They Call Me Sauce, Heartfelt Anarchy, Kemet Coleman, Eems, BLKFLANL and some new jazz from the one of the best horn guys around, Hermon Mehari. Chris also sits down with Steddy P, who has been part of KC's hip hop scene for nearly two decades. In addition to creating his own impressive catalog, in 2006 he started the IndyGround record label and has released music for acts from KC and beyond. As these are historic times, Steddy P. will talk to us about the ongoing protests here in KC and in Columbia, MO. He’ll also talk with us about what white allies and supporters can do to help — what we can sign or donate to help make a difference. Chris asked each musician to send a song from their catalog that fit into the mission of this week's show, and a few sentence on the story behind the song.
