It’s all about David Bowie on this week's episode of Eight One Sixty! We're talking about this weekend’s two tribute shows: the 5th Annual The Band That Fell To Earth KC Tribute To David Bowie at recordBar on Friday, Jan. 24 and Saturday, Jan. 25. For the fifth year now, 13 of the city’s most prominent rock, blues, jazz and folk musicians will come together to celebrate the great David Bowie. Every year the shows sell out, so get your tickets now! On the radio show we’ll be joined by band leader, Michelle Bacon, and she’ll tell us about this year’s events, guest musicians and charities involved. On the show we’ll listen to some David Bowie, we’ll hear The Band That Fell To Earth KC’s treatment of Bowie’s “Boys Keep Swinging,” and we’ll also hear music from one of this year’s special guest collaborators, Heidi Phillips, formerly of Frogpond and currently performing with Danny Krause.
