Sinopsis
Two of 2014's best films got wide releases this week: Paul Thomas Anderson's adaptation of Thomas Pynchon's drug fueled detective tale Inherent Vice and director Ava DuVernay's Selma which tells the story of Martin Luther King Jr's historic march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama in order to secure black citizens the right to vote. Both films take place within a five year span of one another but other than that there are no similarities and we're not just talking about true life versus fiction. We discuss each film in depth, touching on the highs and lows and whether they ultimately achieve the goals set before them. As always, we conclude this episode with our picks for Weekly Movie Recommendations. 01:20 – Selma 15:56 - Inherent Vice 57:38 - Weekly Movie Recommendations
