Set 25 years after the events of Terminator 2, Terminator: Dark Fate ignores the other Terminator sequels and wipes the slate clean for a fresh reboot of the Terminator franchise. Terminator: Dark Fate lost $130 million, but that wasn't enough to keep the Lodge's Terminator freaks away from seeing Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger kick butt one last time. Director Tim Miller and producer James Cameron follow the basic Terminator 2 blueprint, and it's probably safe to say this puts a nail in the coffin on the Terminator franchise... particularly when Arnold sorrowfully says, "I won't be back."
