This week’s guest is triathlete and Ultraman Brad Dalrymple. With most of the recent episodes focused on how plant-based eating can improve health and fight disease, it’s time to change tack and discuss what else a plant-based diet can do - in terms of improving and sustaining athletic performance. Exercise is vital to our health. It helps us to move our bodies and to enjoy nature. Exercise also allows us to participate in sport, thereby utilising the healthy competitive urge we have as humans so we can go further, go faster or be stronger. If that’s what we want. For me, when I hear of someone who exercises harder, longer and faster than I do, I take notice. And when they do this on a plant-based diet, and they perform amazingly, recovering better than the average athlete, they are worth taking significant notice of. A bit over a decade ago, Brad Dalrymple was a regular Australian man, working as an environmental engineer, and playing a few ball sports in his mid-late 20s. When his father had a double knee r
