Episode 16 Interview with Halima Hagi-Mohamed a young Somali- American Author I'm so excited to share this episode with you guys, i love to read new books and had the chance to read a book called Amilah by a young Somali American sister named Halima Hage-Mohamed. Halima was born in Nairobi, Kenya to Somali parents. She has been writing since the age of twelve. She got her start on story sharing site, Wattpad. From there she began creating stories for Facebook with her sister. She enjoys reading and writing. 'Amilah' is her first book. I can honestly say that every story in this book was not only enjoyable but also extremely relatable as a Somali women, each story shared a different fabric of our community, but other communities of diasporas like ourselves could very easily relate to these stories whether they are from, Arab, South or East Asia, other Africans etc. It was so much speaking Halima about How she got started as a writer We talked about some of the stories in her book, as well as the characters.
