I was out of town, up early and alone. I noticed a Waffle House. You know the ones with the yellow and black building, booths, counter top seating where you can watch the line cooks do their thing, talk to them and share stories. I picked a booth, Stevie Wonder was blaring overhead singing “sign sealed and delivered”. One waiter was going through last night’s receipts siting, singing and dancing as the music filled her soul. It made me want to join in. She was genuinely happy. It was pure. It was a joy to watch. ReeRee greeted me as I picked a booth with a soulful, “morning baby”. It made me smile and filled my heart with morning joy.
