Vintage Anime Club Podcast

On this episode we have Diana, Ed, Karen, Kate, Dennis, and the return of Sam to discuss the first Urusei Yatsura movie Only You, released in 1983. Based on Rumiko Takahashi's first serialized manga, and the feature length directorial debut for Mamoru Oshii, we see glimpses of story, design, and direction in their more globally known works that we're more familiar with. We can't help but bring up some Ranma comparisons, why Ataru is surrounded by all the ladies, weird alien customs, one of anime's earliest himbos, Wedding Crashers, and puns for days.
