 Unless you've been living under a rock for the past few decades you've heard of Batman, the Caped Crusader who dishes out vigilante justice to the likes of the Joker, the Penguin and any other hood who dares cause trouble in Gotham City. Batman's origin story in which he witnesses the murder of his parents is both tragic and empowering but is that really the true origin story? If you ask any fan of DC Comics you'd get a hearty "yes" for an answer but what if you asked an archeologist who studies ancient Mayan culture? Why might you ask such a person?
