What began as an ad-hoc Robotech chat turned into a four and a half hour long conversation as I was joined by most of the on-line Robotech fans I know, including some newcomers but also a number of old-school folks from the good old days of the Robotech mailing list--Presley Cannady, Justy Ueki Tylor, CavScout, Brooklyn Red Leg (aka "Rabid Southern Cross Fan"), Fernando--and we discussed a wide-ranging array of interesting topics, including Robotech fandom through the eighties and nineties, the nature of Protoculture and other technical and historical minutia about the Robotech background, visual cues in the show, our various fanfic "epics" (including the one Robotech fanfic ever known to be MiSTied) and so on. I apologize for the length, but in our defense, there's a lot of truly fascinating stuff here--and wouldn't you rather have "too much" Robotech neepery than too little?
