If you think that’s the only way to lead, then take a minute to consider this message from activist, politician, and former 1st President of South Africa, Nelson Mandela. He said, “It is better to lead from behind and to put others in front, especially when you celebrate victory when nice things occur. You take the front line when there is danger. Then people will appreciate your leadership.” In other words, when you’re celebrating the good times, that’s when you should put other people first and give them a chance to shine. But when times are hard, then you have an obligation to step up and lead your people around the obstacles and through the darkness. Think about it. Thanks and Be Excellent!
