The deadly virus outbreak halted Ellis’ NFL aspirations when the university cancelled its Pro Day, but none of that mattered days later as Ellis learned that his superhero would undergo a medically-induced coma. After the elder McKennie beat COVID-19, Ellis wrote a piece entitled “In His Own Words” to spread positivity amid the headlining tragedies across the world.
