In the 1997 Sweet Sixteen the #4 seeded Arizona Wildcats faced Kansas, the #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament, a team that featured Paul Pierce, x2 All-American Raef LaFrentz, Scot Pollard, and 2x 2nd Team All-American Jacque Vaughan. Kansas had only lost once during the entire season until they met the Cats.
