In Volume 5 of The Best of The Bravest: Interviews With The FDNY’s Elite, Mike Colón sits down with retired Rescue 1 firefighter Paul Hashagen for a look back at Paul’s 25 years in the FDNY, specifically his 20 year run in Rescue 1 from 1983-2003, where he participated in the infamous 1986 Hudson River rescue of WNBC reporter Jane Dornacker & her pilot following a helicopter crash, spent some time in the Dominican Republic following the devastation of Hurricane Georges in 1998, & responded to the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, where he survived the collapse of the North Tower.
