Sinopsis
Our understanding of the fundamental nature of our Universe is incomplete but two features are evident: (1) its workings can be described by elegant equations, and (2) in many ways it is finely tuned to an extraordinary degree to deliver galaxies, stars, elements and life. “So what?” is the usual response to the latter: “If it weren’t so, we wouldn’t be here to wonder why”—that’s an “anthropic principle”. I think invoking the principle is bad science and a distraction from the mystery of the Universe’s existence.
