The goal of a physical therapist is to help a patient return to optimal function as quickly as possible. Since many people are in pain when seeing a physical therapist it can be a challenge to engage them and help them learn how to use exercise to heal the pain. Mark Salamon is a physical therapist who uses humor to help put his patients at ease. Mark wrote a book, Does it Hurt When I Do This?: An Irreverent Guide to Understanding Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation which uses humor to help the reader learn more about their body and how to keep it pain-free.
