Mo(ses) Leadership Development: A Bloody Mess
10/02/2013 Duración: 44minMoses didn’t think he had what it took to be a leader. After all, when God asked him to be a leader Moses was short-tempered, he spoke with a stutter, and he was “just a shepherd.” However, God later showed Moses that it was His power that was important in the equation, and He used Moses to lead the Israelites out of Egyptian slavery. Now Moses and his 2 million followers are camped at the base of Mount Sinai, and they have just received the Ten Commandments. But before they head off to the Promised Land that God is directing them toward, Moses has some new leadership challenges to face. Moses is overwhelmed, but He is being forced to rely on God more and more in the process. These stories are the final major narratives in the biblical book called “Exodus.”

Imperfect Christmas: Dangerous Lord Baby
30/12/2012 Duración: 24minEvery year we long for the perfect holiday season: Why can’t everyone be in town for Christmas? Why can’t the family get along? Why do the kids fight when we drive around to look at Christmas lights? Why are some gifts broken before you open them? But the truth is: The first Christmas wasn’t picture perfect either. Stinky shepherds, no room in the inn for a pregnant family, and even infanticide initiated the holy day that we expect to “run seamlessly.” That’s exactly why baby Jesus IS hope. The world is very imperfect…but God is with us.

The End: Heaven and Hell
09/12/2012 Duración: 43minThe supposed Mayan doomsday – December 21, 2012 – is looming on our calendars. In light of that, many people are anxiously wondering if this is the end of the world…or if it’s just another hokey prediction. So this is a great time to dig into biblical teachings about “final things.” How does the Bible describe death? What does the Bible say about Jesus’ return? How will God judge us? Who will go to heaven and hell, and what will they be like? God didn’t want us to anxiously wondering and theorizing. He wanted us to enjoy His peace, so He has plainly revealed to us what to expect in – and to prepare for – “The End.”

The Pursuit of Happiness: The Pure
19/08/2012 Duración: 48minDroves of us are unhappy, lonely, medicated, and discontented. Marketing campaigns hone in on our sadness, offering us antidotes that will supposedly inject happiness into our lives. We’re savvy. We know what’s goin’ on. But we still buy it. Literally. Jesus doesn’t want to be “just another voice” competing for our business. He came to initiate a new Kingdom on earth that would reflect the upside-down values of heaven. At the beginning of his “Sermon on the Mount” (Matthew 5:1-12) – in a little section traditionally called “The Beatitudes” – Christ taught us some of the right attitudes for a contented, joyful life. He wasn’t/isn’t offering a “happiness” that is dependent upon what “happens” to you daily but an indestructible joy that rises above the up-and-down circumstances of our lives. Jesus’ “marketing” strategy – if He has one – is this: These Beatitudes are working in the lives of millions of contented people around the globe who are living out the values of His Kingdom.
