Gordon and Bullock investigate a trail of clues left in a museum robbery, which, unbeknownst to them, were left by Nygma in a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse. Meanwhile, Gordon’s past comes back to haunt him when an anonymous person threatens to expose his hand in Galavan’s murder. Also, Penguin’s visit to some old friends leads him to meet his father, Elijah Van Dalh (guest star Paul Reubens), and Bruce practices his street smarts.

Supergirl inadvertently comes in contact with Red Kryptonite, which destroys her inhibitions. It turns out that Maxwell created it in hopes of stopping Non's next attack. However, it gradually turns Supergirl evil. The DEO is able to subdue her - but at the price of Hank revealing himself as the Martian Manhunter.

Bruce receives a gun from Selina and goes on the hunt for Patrick Malone with Alfred. To get the information, Alfred is forced to fight in the underground fight club, which puts Alfred in the hospital. After Bruce goes on the hunt for himself, Alfred contacts Gordon and Bullock so they can save Bruce before he could be killed. Bruce locates Malone, who later seemingly confirms he is responsible for the murder of Bruce's parents. He asks Bruce to kill him, but Bruce holds back at the last moment, and yet leaves the gun behind, allowing Malone to commit suicide. Later, in the cave, Alfred reads Bruce's letter about him moving to the streets to learn how to fight crime. Meanwhile, Leslie asks Gordon to investigate Kristen Kringle's sudden disappearance. When Nygma is informed, he swears to outsmart Gordon. After running a few more tests on Cobblepot, Hugo Strange declares him sane and releases him from Arkham, although states he still has plans for Cobblepot.

Rip and the team arrive at Oregon in 1958 to investigate a series of murders seemingly tied to Savage. Infiltrating a mental institution, Sara discovers that Savage is a doctor there under the name Curtis Knox. Ray and Kendra pose as a married couple to investigate a murder in a small suburban area, but discover that Savage lives there as well. Elsewhere, Jefferson is attacked by humanoid, bird-like creatures created by Savage from a Nth metal meteorite that gave Kendra and Carter their powers. While trying to get a wounded victim to the ship, Jefferson is abducted by the local sheriff and delivered to Savage. The team decides to go after Savage at the hospital, where he has already infected Jefferson with the Nth metal and transformed him into one of the creatures. Kendra confronts Savage, but he almost kills her before Ray rescues her. The rest of the team manage to capture Jefferson. Back at the ship, Dr. Stein and Gideon create a serum that cures Jefferson and the other victims. Chronos then arrives and s

Fries arrives at the asylum and, after fighting through security and the police, he manages to escape with Nora. Elsewhere, Bruce Wayne researches a lead, believing to have discovered that the man who killed his parents isPatrick "Matches" Malone. James Gordon deduces that Victor Fries will return to his home laboratory in order to freeze Nora and the police surround Fries' home to find that Gordon is correct. In the laboratory, Nora blames herself for the deaths that Fries caused. Fries attempts to cryogenically freeze her, only to learn that Nora switched the formula when he wasn't looking. Nora dies as a result. Distraught by Nora's death, Fries attempts to take his armour off so that he can surrender to

Vandal Savage's trail goes cold, and Rip is unable to track it without an upgrade to Gideon's software. The team receives a distress call from another time ship, the Akeron, so Rip decides to chart a course for the disabled ship to steal their current A.I. software. Rip, Dr. Stein, Jefferson, and Mick board the Akeron. Everyone but Stein are captured by time pirates, who want the Waverider. The pirate captain attempts to board the Waverider, but Rip initiates protocols on the Waverider to protect it. As such, the pirates fire on the Waverider, damaging the hull. Sara and Snart attempt to fix the hull but get locked in the engine room, where the air is slowly leaking out. As Stein rescues the others, Ray flies into space to repair the hull from the outside. Meanwhile, Mick betrays the team and leads the pirates to the Waverider. Rip and the others retake the Akeron, while Sara and Snart stop Mick and the pirates on the Waverider. The Akeron's captain thanks Rip by providing the needed upgrade for Gideon and a

A hacker steals information from a cheating website and asks Cat to release it. When Cat refuses, the hacker disrupts the city's infrastructure by interfering with its computer system.

Several months following the death of Theo Galavan, Gordon is called for questioning and Cobblepot is arrested. Gordon and Cobblepot lie to the police, stating that Cobblepot murdered Galavan and Gordon was not involved. Gordon is reinstated in the GCPD, while Cobblepot falsely justifies his actions as the result of mental illness. Cobblepot is sent to Arkham Asylum, where he becomes a patient of Hugo Strange (B. D. Wong), the Chief of Psychiatry. Gordon and Bullock begin investigating a kidnapping and murder spree, unaware that a scientist named Victor Fries (Nathan Darrow) is the culprit.

The green-hooded archer turns out not to be Oliver Queen, who attacks the team. They retreat back to the Waverider to make repairs and leave 2046. Rip, Sara, Snart, and Mick head to Smoak Industries to find an essential part needed to repair the ship. The team come across a fight in the city between a new gang and Green Arrow. Sara follows the vigilante, who turns out to be John Diggle, Jr., under the alias of Connor Hawke. Connor reveals that Oliver is believed to be dead since vanishing 15 years prior when the son of Slade Wilson, Grant Wilson, arrived in Star City with an army and took over. While searching through Green Arrow's old hideout, Sara and Rip find Oliver, still alive and missing an arm. Oliver directs them to where they can find what they need, but he refuses to help in the struggle. In a fight with Wilson's men, Connor is taken prisoner.

Wells, Cisco, and Barry agree not to discuss what happened on Earth-2 for fear of repercussions. While everyone tries to move on, the humanoid shark-monster that Wells stopped, known as "King Shark", escapes A.R.G.U.S. custody and heads for Central City to kill the Flash. John Diggle and Lyla Michaels arrive to warn Barry, which prompts him to look for King Shark and put a stop to him for good. Barry teams up with Diggle, Lyla, and the rest of A.R.G.U.S. to track King Shark, but he shows up at Barry's home looking for the Flash, tracking Barry's electrical field. A.R.G.U.S. arrives and forces King Shark to retreat. The teams attempt to trick King Shark into a trap, but the bait does not work. Barry forces King Shark to chase him out on the water, and when he is far enough he creates an electrified, underwater cyclone that subdues King Shark and allows A.R.G.U.S. to imprison him again. Valentina attempts to trick Dr. Stein into revealing the Firestorm formula, but he refuses. The team brokers a deal with the Bratva to get into the gulag where Ray, Mick, and Stein are being held prisoner. Before they leave, Rip pulls Sara aside and tasks her with killing Stein, should they fail to rescue him, in order to prevent a potential future where an army of Firestorms have destroyed the world. Savage has Ray and Mick tortured in front of Stein to force him to talk. Obtaining the formula, Valentina discovers that Stein is the other half of Firestorm. The team arrives at the gulag just as Valentina enters a reactor to start absorbing energy from a new thermal core. Snart rescues Mick and Ray, but Valentina merges with Stein to create a Soviet Firestorm. Jefferson is able to reach Stein's consciousness and force the two to separate. Without Stein or a quantum splicer, Valentina cannot control the nuclear reaction inside of her and ultimately is destroyed. As the team moves into the time stream, they are

Malcolm joins Darhk, his wife Ruve Adams, and the other leaders of H.I.V.E. where it is revealed that they are on "Phase 5" of their plan. In order tie-up loose ends, Darhk sends a group of mercenaries, known as the Demolition Team, to take out Captain Lance. They fail, and Felicity is able to track them to their hideout. Oliver, Thea, Laurel, and Diggle go after them but are almost killed when the Demolition Team destroy their own building to escape. Meanwhile, Thea discovers that Oliver has a son, and supports his decision to keep it a secret. With Curtis' help, Felicity realizes that Demolition Team are planning to destroy the venue for the mayoral debate between Oliver and Ruve, leaving Ruve alive as a sympathetic survivor. Oliver and his team stop the mercenaries in time for Oliver to win the debate. After, Darhk kidnaps William. In flashbacks, Oliver kills Conklin to win the trust of the other prisoners as Reiter forces them to dig for an "ultimate power" hidden on the island.

Zoom realizes that Dr. Wells has returned to Earth-2 and issues a demand to the citizens of Central City to locate him. Zoom attacks S.T.A.R. Labs looking for Wells and Cisco, but they manage to escape with the Earth-2 Barry. Wells, Cisco, and Barry update Iris on what happened with the Earth-1 Barry, so they all set out to find Killer Frost in the hope that she will lead them to Zoom. After a fight, Killer Frost agrees to take the team to Zoom. The team arrives to rescue Barry and Jesse, but Zoom shows up too. The team is able to escape while Killer Frost keeps Zoom frozen and unable to move, but a third, unidentified prisoner is left behind. On Earth-1, Caitlin creates "Velocity 9", a compound to temporarily give Jay his speed so that he can stop a new metahuman named Geomancer. After, Caitlin discovers that when Jay uses Velocity 9 the serum starts to cure his illness. Jay, Caitlin, and Joe stabilize the breach and allow Barry, Cisco, Wells, and Jesse to return, but not before Zoom pulls Jay back through t
