DC Films Talk Podcast #4 - BATMAN V SUPERMAN FINAL TRAILER REVIEW

The team arrives in Washington, D.C. in 1986 to find a document that will lead them to Savage. The team infiltrates the Pentagon and retrieve a government file that points them toward scientist Valentina Vostok in the Soviet Union. Chronos tracks the team, and Rip is forced to use Russian fighter jets to assist in taking down Chronos. While Ray and Snart go after Vostok, Rip tracks a time anomaly outside of Moscow. Rip finds his mentor Zaman Druce, who offers to pardon Rip and return his new team to their time if Rip voluntarily surrenders. The pardon is a trick, and Zaman attempts to kill Rip. With help from the team, Rip survives and Chronos and Zaman escape. Back on the ship, Rip has Sara and Kendra work together to tame the feral nature that resides in each of them. Dr. Stein infiltrates a research lab and discovers Savage is trying to build an army with the same abilities as Firestorm. Dr. Stein absorbs the energy in Savage's thermal core, but he, Ray, and Mick are captured by the Soviets.

Oliver refuses Nyssa's offer, instead he attempts to convince Malcolm to relinquish control of the League to Nyssa in exchange for the cure. Malcolm claims Nyssa is lying and refuses to go along, while Nyssa agrees but proclaims that if Malcolm backs out then everyone will be considered an enemy. Oliver convinces Nyssa to provide a sample to prove to Merlyn she is not lying. After witnessing Thea get better, Malcolm agrees to the deal. At the exchange, Malcolm double-crosses Nyssa and she is forced to retreat. Oliver convinces Malcolm to challenge Nyssa to a duel, with the winner remaining the leader of the League. Before they fight, Oliver uses ancient rules to trade places with Nyssa as her husband. Oliver bests Malcolm, but instead of killing him he cuts off the hand wearing the Demon's Head ring and knocks Malcolm unconscious. Oliver exchanges the ring for the cure. Realizing her mistake, Nyssa disbands the League and destroys the ring. Angered by Oliver's betrayal, Malcolm informs Darhk about Oliver's so

Before heading to Earth-2, Barry closes all but one of the breaches so that Zoom has no other way to travel between the parallel Earths. Using the last breach at S.T.A.R. Labs, Barry, Cisco, and Dr. Wells travel to Earth-2, but there is a surge of energy that de-stabilizes the breach. The trio will be stuck in Earth-2 until Caitlin and Jay can stabilize the breach again. Barry decides to impersonate his Earth-2 self to get more information on Zoom. Barry is attacked by Earth-2's Caitlin and Ronnie Raymond, known here as Killer Frost and Deathstorm, agents of Zoom. Cisco attempts to help the police stop the pair, but he is confronted by his own evil doppelganger, "Reverb". Barry tries to rescue him but is stopped by Reverb and Deathstorm. Zoom arrives, kills Reverb and Deathstorm for harming the Flash, and then imprisons Barry alongside Jesse. Meanwhile, Jay reveals to Caitlin that he invented Velocity-6 on his Earth, and that it is the real reason why he lost his speed and is dying.

A mysterious plant known as Black Mercy places Kara in a dreamlike state that has her imagining that she is back on Krypton, thanks to a plot by Non, who is using Earth's technology to launch Myriad, which he and Astra are planning to use to wipe out humanity. Alex, Hank, Winn, Maxwell, and James race against time to save Kara with Alex entering Kara's world to pull her out and bring Kara back to reality. When Kara comes back she seeks revenge on Non and stops him but Astra, who wanted Kara unharmed and upset with Non, is killed by Alex before Astra could kill Hank (who fought her off as the Martian Manhunter), only to have Hank tell Kara that he killed Astra instead of Alex, who starts to feel guilty over this and whether she should tell Kara the truth. Non vows revenge on Kara in the wake of Astra's death.

Sara convinces Rip that another way to stop Vandal Savage would be to take away his resources. Rip locates the bank where Savage keeps his money, and he and Sara go there to steal the funds. They realize that Savage's men are guarding the bank, so they take one captive to gain information on Savage. They learn that Savage is using Carter's blood to give his own men longer lives. Rip and his team engage Savage and reclaim Carter's body, but Rip inadvertently gives Savage the information he will eventually use to kill Rip's wife and son. Meanwhile, Kendra's condition worsens, requiring Ray to shrink down and enter her bloodstream to stop pieces of the dagger that stabbed Kendra from reaching her heart. Snart attempts to change his own family's fate by preventing his father from entering prison, but his efforts ultimately change nothing. Rip charts a course for 1986 to intercept Savage again.

The team goes after a burglar, and Oliver and Thea manage to corner him. He escapes when Thea loses consciousness and almost falls off a building. Malcolm reveals to Oliver that this is Thea's bloodlust; since she has not taken a life, the bloodlust is killing her. Felicity tracks the burglar again. Oliver stops him, but when it is revealed to be Roy Harper, Oliver's surprise allows Roy to escape. They track Roy to Palmer Tech, where they discover he is being controlled by a man who goes by the name the Calculator. Felicity tracks the Calculator through the web, who reveals he intends to shut down the entire city killing everyone in the process. The team locates his bomb and destroy it before it can shut down the city infrastructure. Meanwhile, Darhk's wife enters the mayoral race, Thea slips into a coma, the Calculator is revealed to be Felicity's father, and Nyssa escapes her cell in Nanda Parbat to offer Oliver a cure for Thea in exchange for Malcolm's life. Right before the particle accelerator explosion, Joey Monteleone was thrown into a tar pit and left for dead. Sealed away, he is freed two years later with the ability to turn his body into tar. He sets out to get revenge on those who attempted to kill him. Meanwhile, Dr. Wells creates a device to syphon Barry's speed energy and attaches it to his suit. He and Barry also successfully find a way to close the breaches of Earth-2. When Barry goes after Joey, the device works, and permanently steals a portion of Barry's speed, slowing him down. Wells gives the energy to Zoom, who demands the rest. While going after Joey a second time, Iris is injured when Barry is too slow to save her. Watching Barry wrestle with the guilt of Iris' injury, Wells confesses. Wells pleads his case, asking to be returned to Earth-2 and have Barry seal the breaches so Zoom cannot re-enter. After stopping Joey with an invention of Wells', Barry realizes that Wells was only trying to save his daughter, which the rest of them would have

Kara comes face to face with a Bizarro-doppelgänger of her, who was brought to life by Maxwell through a combination of genetics from her DNA and a comatose victim; the double is programmed to destroy Supergirl. Kara on the other hand, believes that Maxwell is the one the DEO should go after when she realizes he knows her secret by sending Bizarro out to kill her. Alex and Hank come up with a plan to keep Maxwell from exposing Kara while countering Bizarro with blue kryptonite. Meanwhile, Kara starts to get to know Adam but is not sure where to take the next step. A mysterious plant attacks Kara.

Still in 1975, the team infiltrate a warhead auction for terrorists under the belief that Savage will be there. Savage becomes aware of their presence and orders them killed. A fight breaks out between the team and the terrorists. They all escape, but not before a piece of Ray's suit is left behind. Angry at the recklessness, Rip points out what happens and how the technology of Ray's suit will create super weapons that lead to the destruction of Central City in 2016. The team splits up, with Professor Stein, Jackson, and Sara retrieving the missing piece of Ray's suit, while Ray, Snart, and Rory go in search of the dagger that kills Kendra and Carter in their first life. The dagger turns out to be in the home of Savage, who imprisons the men and forces them to call the rest of the team. Kendra and Carter go after Savage, while the rest take on Savage's men. During the fight, Savage kills Carter with the dagger, revealing that only Kendra can wield it to kill him. Kendra is injured and the team is forced to r

Felicity returns home from the hospital trying to figure out her place on the team now that she is a paraplegic. While Diggle and Lyla are out on a date, an A.R.G.U.S. agent seeks them out for assistance, but he is kidnapped before he can tell the pair what is happening. Diggle and Lyla go to Amanda Waller, who denies any knowledge of what happened, but gives Lyla a portable hard drive that reveals the operative was taken by an organization known as "Shadowspire". Oliver and Diggle recognize the name, with Diggle recalling first meeting the group in Afghanistan when they were war profiteers. With Andy's help, the team tracks Shadowspire. Oliver pressures Felicity for help, who has started having hallucinations of her hacker counterpart. She struggles under the pressure and Diggle is almost killed. Shadowspire infiltrates A.R.G.U.S. looking for a Rubicon access code, killing Amanda Waller when she refuses to help. Oliver and the team, with Felicity, enter A.R.G.U.S. and stop Shadowspire. The team discovers Turtle is dead, and Jay suspects Dr. Wells is responsible. Meanwhile, Cisco asks Harrison for help in controlling his vibing abilities. Harrison determines they are connected to Cisco's fear response, and he triggers a vibe which alerts the team that Eobard Thawne is back. Wells surmises that this version of Eobard is from a point in the future before he went back in time to kill Barry's mother, and was thus protected from being erased with Eddie's sacrifice. Retrofitting goggles to induce Cisco's vibes, the team learns that Eobard is planning to use tachyons to return to his future. Barry arrives and destroys Eobard's tachyon machine. After a race around the city, Barry stops Eobard and imprisons him at the particle accelerator. However, his capture causes a rupture in the timeline that threatens to kill Cisco, so Barry is forced to send Eobard back to the future to save his friend. Meanwhile, Patty discovers Barry is the Flash, but when he refuses to acknowledge it, she chooses to leave t

Kara saves a anti-alien senator after a mysterious creature attacks, only to discover that Hank has known of the creature, who he hold responsible for killing his family and his race back on Mars, and is vowing vengeance. The deception takes on a new twist when the alien poses as the senator in order to bait Hank in a plot to kill him and Kara has to intervene before Hank goes through with his vengeance. Meanwhile, Kara helps Cat meet with her son Adam, who later asks Kara out for a date. An identical Supergirl suddenly shows up in National City, and is already the lead story on television after she tosses a dangling car off a bridge.

Oliver turns to Captain Lance for information on Darhk's location, while Diggle interrogates his brother Andy. They track down Darkh's location, but only find several dead Ghost soldiers and an anarchy symbol painted in blood. The team realize that Lonnie Machin is back and is out for revenge against Darhk. Machin is caught and Oliver interrogates him for information on Darkh. Eventually, Oliver sets Machin free to go after Darhk, tracking him in the process. Machin goes after Darhk's family; the team arrive and save them, but Machin escapes. As repayment for saving his family, Darhk grants Oliver time to spend with his own family before Darhk kills him. Meanwhile, Felicity is left paralyzed from being shot. In flashbacks, Conklin presents Oliver as a traitor and the maps he found as proof to Reiter. While Conklin tortures Oliver, Reiter notices the spell on Oliver's stomach and forces Conklin to stop

As Dr. Wells struggles to try to find ways to increase Barry's speed, Cisco presents a new idea to slow Zoom down. Cisco tells the team about a metahuman, whom he has dubbed the "Turtle", who has the ability to stop the kinetic energy around him and thus slow everyone to a halt. After Barry fails to stop the Turtle at a diamond unveiling, the team sets a trap at a local art exhibit. Barry invites Patty, with the intention of telling her his secret, but the Turtle is aware of the trap and almost succeeds in killing Patty before escaping. Later, the Turtle kidnaps Patty in an effort to punish the Flash. The team tracks down the Turtle, and Barry is able to generate enough speed to move through the kinetic waves the Turtle creates to knock him unconscious and save Patty. Later, Patty tells Barry that she is leaving Central City, and Dr. Wells kills the Turtle while extracting a portion of his brain.
