Low Pressure Podcast: The Podcast For Skiers

It's been a year and a half since Nick's near fatal accident skiing pillows on a TGR shoot in March 2020. The one where he was buried and his transceiver failed. He talks about the fallout from bringing attention to the faulty device and Black Diamond's luke warm response to take accountability. He describes his experience of the nearly 6 minutes spent under the snow, the training he and his crew used to save his life as well as and the physical and mental effects that were the result.

Jordie Kidner is a pro skier living in Squamish BC. For the past few years he's been a part of the Blank Collective and has a big part of this year's excellent film, Tales From Cascadia. He tells us a funny story of his first day filming with the crew as well as the honour of becoming peers with the guys who he had posters of on his wall.

We have a brand new show for you LPP mountain bikers!  We wanted to give you a sample of what to expect and are proud to present the first episode of the Brett Tippie Podcast with his first guest MTB legend, Wade Simmons.

Brett Tippie is one of the pioneers of Freeride Mountain Biking. He is also the host of the upcoming, Brett Tippie Podcast, the sister show of the LPP. I had been thinking about creating a new podcast for a while but wasn't sure what it was going to be. One night, while out for a drink in Whistler after a busy day at the Crankworx Mountain Bike festival, I saw Brett Tippie across the room and I instantly knew. That's my guy.

Sierra Shafer is the current editor of SKI Magazine and former editor of Powder Magazine. We discuss a lot including the need for adaptability in the ski industry.

Hedvig Wessel is a perennial contender on the Freeride World Tour. The Norwegian skier has been inserting huge backflips into her comp runs, and is one of the driving factors for the recent acceleration in the progression of the Ski Women’s category at the FWT. She joins us right after winning the first event of the 2021 Season

Nicolas Hale-Woods is the founder and CEO of the Freeride World Tour.   Nico tells us about the early origins of the FWT, how they're adapting during the pandemic, the new equal pay format and much more.

We’re all fatigued from the constant access to everyone’s sick lines, from the insta-fluencers posing pretty and from scrolling through post after post of branded content.  Cy’s distinctive and whimsical, ski-themed comics are just what we need.

Chris Turpin is here with a great conversation with a tonne of stories. He's been living in China, coaching the Chinese National Team leading up to the Beijing Olympics, at the beginning of the pandemic in Wuhan.  We talk about buying an island property with Mark Abma, sight unseen,   hitting a bear on his motorbike, the recent X-Games and a lot more.  Enjoy!

Taylor Lundquist has been raising the profile of women in street skiing for the last 5 years and shows no signs of slowing down.  In the past year she won "Skier of the Year" at the inaugural NewSchoolers Awards,  she was featured in the all female shred-fest "SKIVAS", and she will be the first female to compete in the 2021 Edition of XGames Real Ski.  On top of that she is working to raise awareness of the LBGTQ community within action sports after publicly coming out in 2020.

Guillaume Tessier has been one of the principal cinematographers for MSP for the last 2 decades. In that time he has captured some of the most iconic lines and memorable segments in the history of ski films. He lives behind the scenes and behind the camera so we're excited to tell his story.

Mike Waesche is the Founder and CEO of RMU Skis (Rocky Mountain Underground).   RMU started out when a Mike and a few friends wanted to try to make some skis in their garage.  Based upon its core values, the company has evolved beyond skiing in ways that no other ski brand has.  Mike shares the evolution story of RMU and why they continue to adapt and pioneer what's possible within skiing's market space.

Caite Zeliff is on her way to being one of the biggest stars in skiing.   You'll find that this self professed goofball is a very well-rounded human with exceptional abilities on skis.  She has a focus that, despite setbacks, will undoubtedly allow her to meet her goals.

Paddy Graham is a pro skier and a co-founder of the Legs of Steel crew.  He's also a Red Bull athlete, Englishman, a Producer, on camera talent and all around good guy!

Issac Freeland is the 2020 Freeride World Tour Champion and Rookie of the Year.  We talk about his excellent FWT season and how it was ultimately affected by Covid-19.  He details his journey of living in multiple ski towns while finishing school as well as his new CBD, "Freekski Arnica" balm and an amazing story of being born deaf and the memory of hearing for the first time.
