We saw some spectacular performances as well as some heartbreaking moments on the way to crowning 3 new World Champions as well as 4 first time winners in Verbier. The Legendary Bec des Rosses presented an extra challenge in the way of a very thin and dangerous snowpack which is something the athletes have been familiar with this year. Giray (Gr-eye) Dadali is a pro skier and mechanical engineer of Turkish heritage who grew up in Bristol Valley, New York. Upon moving west to attend school and ski bigger mountains, he became known for many years as "Ahmet's Brother", referring to his pro skier brother Ahmet Dadali. Giray is shedding that moniker now as his personal brand and list of accomplishments keeps growing. Giray used his engineering degree to co-found, Daymaker Touring, a binding adapter system to enable you to use your downhill ski gear to go touring on. He's also a filmmaker producing "Of The Black Sea" in which he travels to Turkey to combine his love for skiing while discovering more about his Turkish heritage. Eric Blehm is a former editor of Transworld Snowboarding Magazine and is a New York Times best selling author specializing in adventure biographies. He's here to talk about his latest book, "The Darkest White" which is a deep look into the life and tragic death of the legendary snowboarder, Craig Kelly. Kelly is arguably the most influential Snowboarder of all time. Emily Childs is one part of the three person crew of fun loving, hard charging skiers, The Blondes.   Earlier this year The Blondes released their film, "How Did We Get Here?" , which answers that exact question, sharing a quick look into the histories of the three athletes and friends.  Emily had a busy winter this year with several big ski trips and a lot of time spent in helicopters.  It's not exactly what you think though.  When not skiing spines in Alaska or shooting promo photos she works as a helicopter pilot and talks about the process of getting her licence.  Em also tells us about growing up at Troll Ski Resort, a small little area in BC that was founded by her Grandfather and operated by her mom. Tonje grew up in Norway before making her way to Revelstoke where she met Janelle Yip and Emily Childs.  She tells us her version of the origin story of the Blondes from Revy to Whistler, filming for TGR and MSP,  their all for one attitude.    Tonje also spent those years simultaneously studying for her bachelors and masters degrees,  she suffered an injury early this season that she has, until now, kept quiet and she talks about her move to Arc'teryx and much much more.
