Sooo… I couldn’t get my hands on Rog Smuve and C.A.P. yet this week, so I’ve decided to treat you to a Nothin’ NICE to Say Interview entitled “Woke.” In this installment, Aldo NICE linked up with Just Devaughn and Duff to parse through the concept of wokeness in the culture. The podcast kicked off with us discussing the connotations of the term (04:00), different media depictions over the years (07:00), and how Hoteps have co-opted the term (11:00). Next, we dove into the concept of people using wokeness as a justification for financial situations (21:00) and the 50-80 Rule as it pertains to voting and capitalizing on the wave (28:00). For our first podcast of 2019, Aldo NICE, Rog Smuve, and C.A.P. aka Los linked up to run down some crazy happenings from the last two weeks. Rumble Williams led things off by imploring people to do better for the new year (01:00), which quickly turned into the fellas discussing New Year’s Eve, resolutions, and plans for ’19 (04:00). Aldo ran down with Burned His Boudin this week including elevator mirrors, debit card sounds, and video game gambling (19:00). We decided to bring back Ask Rog, Ask Los and let the fellas discuss which card to select and toilet courtesy etiquette (27:00). Our main stories of the week included the McDonald’s assault in Florida (34:00), new birth certificate laws in New York City (43:00) and the firing of black coaches in the NFL (51:00). In the latest Nothin’ NICE to Say Interview, Aldo NICE sat down with the CEO of Loyal Brothers Film and Media Firm, Dominic Young, to rap about some of his upcoming projects and discuss his growth in the entertainment industry. For this year’s Homecoming episode, Aldo NICE decided to do a little something different and kick off the Nothin’ NICE to Say interview series.
