We decided to celebrate Black History Month in the only way we know how… by having a BHM Program. Objectively speaking, this is one of the best episodes of the podcasts to date. Aldo, Rog, and Los jump into feedback from last week about our All-Snub teams and debate if this is the worst month ever in Louisiana sports history (02:00). The fellas came together to drop hot fire on this last podcast of January. Back to where it all started, ALDO Nice and Rog Smuve revisit the first ever Best Friend Weekend Podcast with the Top Ten List for 2017. We decided to bring in CNH, the first Caucasian friend of the program, to help us bring in the New Year and discuss our favorite people and things of 2017. We took a week off for Thanksgiving, but we’re back… You miss us? Aldo NICE and Rog Smuve briefly discussed our absence for the holidays and parental etiquette when sending packages (02:00). We attended a baby shower over the weekend and talked about the differences between male & female baby showers (07:00), games that we played (10:00), and proposed new games for future events (18:00). We love doing interviews… This week Aldo NICE, Rog Smuve, and CAP brought in one of Houston’s finest, Officer Friendly, to talk about police brutality and issues plaguing the urban community. In one of the most frank and humorous podcasts to date, the guys discussed how black cops can still be black while being the police (05:00), different policing styles (06:00), and if cops are still cops when they are off the clock (13:00). Officer Friendly broke down why certain police officers end up in certain neighborhoods and community policing (22:00), Houston weed laws (30:00), a time when his life was in danger on the job (34:00), and his eye-opening issues with “Black Lives Matter” (37:00). In the last section of the podcast, the guys did word association for some of our favorite NBA players like Steph, LeBron, and Kyrie (55:00) before wrapping up with Nothin’ Nice to Say about #ClutchCity (1:22:00).
