Episode 16: What Should I Wear?
03/03/2018 Duración: 14minHow do you decide what you wear on stage? This should always be part of your plan. What you wear is an extension of the performance. Your Audience needs you to put thought into your visual presentation of yourself. You could be the best musician or singer or drag queen or dancer in the world but the audience will not care if you are not presented well. You cannot get on stage it your street clothes, gym clothes, or “running-errands clothes.” A great outfit does need to cost a fortune, take a trip to a craft shore and a thrift shop - find a way to CREATE your vision. Episode 15: Appearance Matters
01/03/2018 Duración: 12minHow do you feel after a haircut? A fresh Shave? A new style? A shower? Chances are you are like most people and you feel refreshed and have a little pep in your step. That little pep...That's your confidence coming out to play. Most everyone feels more confident when they freshen up their appearance and that confidence can make worlds of difference on stage. No matter your style, you should be showering and trimming and just “freshening” prior to stepping on stage, every time. When you feel good, you are confident and when you are confident you perform better for your audience. Episode 13: Command Attention
17/02/2018 Duración: 12minStage Presence as defined by Google is the ability to command the attention of a theater audience by the impressiveness of one's manner or appearance. Doesn’t that mean our manner (or performance) must impress the audience? How can you be impressive? Something as simple as confidence is impressive. Confidence in all you do on stage. If your performance is lacking the impressiveness it is also lacking connection and confidence. You can improve this by following my 3 rules I share in this episode: Don’t be afraid to look foolish, in fact the more foolish you feel the better you actually look as long as you have confidence. 2. If people laugh, let them laugh. They will amount to nothing more than what they already are. 3. Let the ridicule and adversity be your fuel. Strive to perform at such a level that anyone naysayers will look foolish for questioning your talent. Episode 12: Get to know your Stage
12/02/2018 Duración: 13minThere are a lot of different types and sizes of stages. This episode discusses techniques to help in adapting to each one. Every stage has its quirks and the more you perform on any given stage, the more you get to know its quirks - where the light hits perfectly, where that weird soft spot is, where the rough patch is that tears up your jeans when you knee slide. Unfortunately, we don’t all perform on the same stage over and over so I have only one tip to provide to help you adapt to evey single stage you will ever find yourself performing on. Episode 11: Saying Thank You
02/02/2018 Duración: 13minExpressing gratitude is sign of respect, humility, and professionalism that even some celebrities have yet to display. There are a lot of people that make it possible for you to be on that stage and they deserve your gratitude. Starting with your audience. Without them you would not have a stage to stand on. They are your primary people to show your thanks. Doing something as simple as saying thank you will go further with your audience than anything you do on stage. It is also important to thank the individuals that made it possible for you to perform; the booking agent, the owner of the venue, the promoter. Finally other people working and/or entertaining in the same show. That includes the bartenders, DJ, other entertainers. So many people are deserving of your thanks and giving it to them will make them respect you and be more apt to support your career in the future. With that I also thank you for listening and subscribing to the Being On Stage Podcast. DON’T FORGET - Send me an e-mail to reserve a F

Episode 10: Establish a Routine
27/01/2018 Duración: 10minEvery great performer has a pre-show routine they follow to put them “in the zone.” What do you do? If you don’t already have your own routine, it is important that you establish one so that you can properly prepare your body and mind to be on stage. It does not have to bea fancy all-day routine, it can be something simple and easy as long as it works for you. When establishing a routine you should consider how and what you eat, get good sleep the night before, and have a period of relaxation as show time approaches. There is no wrong way, you just have to find what works for you. DON’T FORGET - Send me an e-mail to reserve a FREE copy of my e-book being released at the end of next month. Episode 9: Fake it Til You Make it...Real
19/01/2018 Duración: 10minLife happens...and sometimes we, as performers struggle with our passion on stage when life is tough off stage. How can you remain connected to your material and energized by the performance? FAKE IT Truth is after a few minutes, you won’t be faking. The natural performer will rise and the sow will be amazing. Put yourself in the moment and if you must, fake the confidence, fake the energy, fake the passion because your audience is waiting for you to entertain the - that's your job as a performer. Sometimes even with “regular jobs” we don’t want to get up, we don’t want to go into work but we have to put on our big boy pants and get to it. Fake it until it becomes real, then everything else will fade away and you will truly be in the moment. 17/01/2018 Duración: 11minPerforming on Stage is all about the Audience; without the Audience there is no Stage. In this episode I discuss why the audience is important as well as 2 key ways to connect with your audience from the stage. In this episode I discuss why the audience is important as well as 2 key ways to connect with your audience from the stage. The first is being passionate in every moment that you are on stage. Episode 7: Stop Comparing Yourself to Others (part 2)
05/01/2018 Duración: 15minThere is a dark and dangerous path to take if you continue comparing yourself to others. Jealousy. Jealousy is an ugly monster that will contort the person you are and change you into someone you would never have imagined yourself to be and someone you will look back and be ashamed of. It cannot be stressed enough that you should not focus on the success of others. You must continue to focus on your path and your art in order to truly be successful. Tearing down other artists will only spawn more and more hate and negativity . We need to push ourselves to a positive journey and learn from others as a way to improve ourselves. Talking crap and tearing down will only lead you down a lonely path that lands you behind a desk...not on a stage in front of thousands.

Episode 6: Stop Comparing Yourself to Others
15/12/2017 Duración: 11min“I’m not good enough” “I’ll never be as good as ______” These phrases are confidence killers. We have to stop judging ourselves based on the success of others. When you say things like this you are actually making it harder to grow as an entertainer and as an artist. You have to be OK with people being better than you. There will always be someone that is better than you, has better shows, gets paid more, has more success; and you have to embrace the challenge. Stop tearing yourself down and focus on what you need to work at to get to the level of success that you desire.

Episode 5: Are you Ready?
11/12/2017 Duración: 12minWhat if your dreams were handed to you today? Would you feel ready? Are you confident enough to accept the next step and take it? Every opportunity should be viewed as a once in a lifetime opportunity but if you don’t feel ready for the next step you may miss out...permanently. Whether you are “still working on it” or “not good enough yet,” you have to get past those feelings in order to allow yourself to move forward as an entertainer. Even if you are just starting out, the next step may be just getting on stage for the first time. What if you are AMAZING? You may never know if you don’t just take that leap of faith in yourself.
-
Episode 4: It's not about you
06/12/2017 Duración: 10minWhat is the difference between a crowd and an audience? Mainly Everything. Crowd are people gathered and an Audience is gathered to spectate. A great entertainer can turn a crown into their audience and turn an audience into their fans and followers. So you turn a crowd into your audience? Provide an Experience to pull them in. How do you turn your audience into your fans? Realize that the audience is the reason we get on stage. We are sharing our art and the audience is there to experience it. Being on stage is NOT about you.

Episode 3: Pushing Yourself to Grow
02/12/2017 Duración: 12minIt can be tough to continuously push yourself to get better and to grow as an entertainer. Every time you step on stage you should be giving 150%, don’t plan on being just ‘OK.’ Performing on stage requires a plan to be amazing each and everytime. So how do we do it? It requires finding the source of your motivation and use it to push yourself. Maybe it's the audience response, maybe it's the vision of what the performance will look like, maybe it's the feeling you get when you are in front of the audience. We Want to turn our audience into our fans and in order to do that continually we have to push ourselves to be better today than we were yesterday.
