The YKY gang all went out to the theater to experience Cocaine Bear. We were all excited to see the film based on the crazy trailer. Directed by Elizabeth Banks and starring Keri Russell, Alden Ehrenreich, O'Shea Jackson Jr. and in his final film role, Ray Liotta. Is it everything you could hope in a movie about a bear doing Cocaine? For that you'll have to watch. I'll give you a hint....friggen a right it does!!!!!

A different kind of film about social influencers, the super wealthy and the difference in the classes all set aboard a Yacht and isolated island. Think Lord of the Flies with unlikable people and you'll get the gist. Let's what the gang thinks.

On the latest episode of YKY it's a Hollywood Golden age classic, so you know that means it was John's pick. His pick is the 1936 Frank Capra classic, Mr. Deeds Goes to Town. Starring the great Gary Cooper, Jean Arthur and Lionel Stander (Max on Hart to Hart). It's the story of Longfellow Deeds from Mandrake Falls who inherits 20 million dollars. It's Frank Capra so you know it's small town America VS the big city machine. Who do you think will win. That's why they call it "Capra Corn" and a classic.

Directed by James Ivory and starring in her first movie role a very young Helena Bonham Carter, Maggie Smith, Denholm Elliot, Julian Sands and in his 2nd American movie Daniel Day-Lewis. Chris strongly defends his choice and once we understand why he first saw this movie it becomes very clear why he loves this film. What about the rest of the YKY rabble? Watch and see. SPOILERS!

On the latest episode of YKY we go back to the 70's with a Sydney Pollack film, The Yakuza. Starring Robert Mitchum, Ken Takakura, Brian Keith, Richard Jordan, Keiko Kishi and James Shigeta (Takagi in Die Hard). This is an East meets West Character study about debt, loyalty and honor with a screenplay by legends Robert Towne and Paul Schrader. Ralph is in his 70's happy place but what about the rest of the gang.

Tis the season for the Wheel of Holiday movies. We review Ralph's choice, 2022's A Christmas Story, Christmas. A sequel to the beloved holiday classic A Christmas Story (1983). This one was produced and stars the original Ralphie, Peter Billingsley. Does it capture the magic of the original film or is it a blatant money grab? Is it destined to become a must watch Holiday classic? These questions and more are answered by the YKY gang who had some interesting takes. Stay till the end to see what the winner of the Wheel of Holiday movies picks. When you see who wins the pick you will not be surprised with their "Holiday" choice. Continuing the tradition in December of picking our favorite Holiday Themed Films, the Holiday wheel chose Drew. Drew's Holiday pick is the 1999 Classic Holiday film, Eyes Wide Shut. Directed by Stanley Kubrick, his last film before his death, and starring Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, who were married at the time of filming. You can imagine how this choice could open the door to a discussion about whether this is truly a "holiday film". If you like your holidays with orgies, crumbling marriages, objectification of women and the F word, then you are in for a magical treat that will open your heart to the holidays. Mmmmm...wonder what I thought? Guess, then watch with your eyes wide open.

In the latest YKY episode we discuss Chris's "Never seen pick", 1970's, The Looking Glass War. A gritty British espionage thriller in the vein of The Spy Who Came in From the Cold. Based on the novel by John le Carré it's directed by Frank Pierson and stars Christopher Jones, Ralph Richardson, Pia Degermark and in only his 4th film, Sir Anthony Hopkins. It's a 70's movie so you know Ralph will love it but will the rest of the gang? Is it Bond or is it boring? Watch and find out.

On the latest episode of YKY we review and discuss our wining community poll viewer pick, 2018’s Andhanhun. This review will include MAJOR SPOILERS so if you have not seen the film be warned. Directed and co-written by Sriram Raghaven and starring, Ayushmann Khurrana, Radhika Apte, Manav Vij, 70’s and 80’s Bollywood star, Anil Dhawan and in a performance that can only be called, delightfully evil, Tabu. This dark comedy thriller came highly recommended so we were all looking forward to seeing it. Did our viewers get it right with this choice? How does it compare to the other films we’ve seen so far? At any point does the cast break out in an RRR type dance number? Will we ever let our fans pick our movies again? You’ll have to watch all the way through to find out. This week we take our second look at the comic rockumentary with special guest Joe Macre. Joe was the original bass player for the acclaimed cult band Crack The Sky. Rolling Stone Magazine declared Crack The Sky "the Beatles of Baltimore." The magazine gave their eponymous first album their "debut of the year" award. Joe says "This Is Spinal Tap" best represents what it was like being in a rock band in the late-70s and early-80s. We don't talk much about the movie, but he keeps us entertained with the history of his band, and life on the road with acts like Frank Zappa, Styx, Boston, Foghat and Cheap Trick among others.

This one was recommended by a lot of you, so in keeping with the Halloween spirit this week's film is 2018's Tumbbad. Co-directed by Rahi Anil Barve, Anand Gandhi and Adesh Prasad. This is a atmospheric film about the myth of a God, gold coins and greed. It was a film that took 6 years to make. It is not a horror fest but the last 20 minutes....surprising and creepy.
