  • 217 - From 7 sales to $30,000 launch (Wayne Fick interview)

    15/08/2024 Duración: 01h03min

We are doing something we’ve NEVER done before in 200+ episodes of our podcast… having a guest! We are excited to share this chat with our friend Wayne Fick, who, over the past two years, he transitioned from working with clients, having zero audience, to selling his own digital products, and building a calm business that he’s thoroughly enjoying.Wayne started with his first product, which sold to just 7 people. Realizing it wasn't a good fit, he pivoted and a year later generated $30,000 in sales for his Canva course!

  • 216 - Evergreen vs Launching

    08/08/2024 Duración: 35min

Evergreen sales are often painted as the ultimate dream: you fall asleep, wake up to sales, and money magically deposits into your account without lifting a finger. Sounds perfect, right? However, the reality of Evergreen is far from this idyllic picture… This week, we discuss selling digital products Evergreen vs Launches. While Evergreen is often seen as the “easy,” passive income model, we believe there are a lot of hidden tactics and costs, not to mention a TON of technical setup and ongoing experimentation that is really difficult. For us, Launching offers a simpler, more manageable alternative. An open and closed launch model provides built-in urgency and a single, streamlined experience for our audience. Through trial and error, we discovered a recurring revenue launch model that combines the best of both worlds, giving us Evergreen-like results. Listen in as we discuss the pros and cons of each model and, as always, you decide how you want to run your own business, we’re just here to share our stories

  • 215 - This is the #1 key to getting MOMENTUM

    01/08/2024 Duración: 35min

Since the beginning of the year, we’ve been on a mission to help more entrepreneurs build businesses that allow them to live a balanced life. We initially thought the key was giving our members one thing to focus on each month through our live coaching sessions. While this provided clarity, it also led to overwhelm as members felt they had to prioritize every aspect of their business equally. That's when we introduced the Un-Boring Business Roadmap to provide a clear sequence for tackling business tasks, which was a game changer. However, our thinking evolved further this year. We realized that to build a calm, profitable business, you need to focus on what we call the Calm Business Trifecta: 1) an irresistible offer that you can sell with repeatable launches; 2) an engaged audience grown with a sustainable content system; and 3) a peaceful daily schedule grounded in an 'enough' mindset. We believe that if you narrow your focus to having a successful launch of your core offer, everything else will fall into pl

  • 210 - Should you hire a team??

    27/06/2024 Duración: 43min

There is a ton of glamorization when it comes to having a “team” in the online business world. Having employees can be a badge of honor, but is hiring the right fit for you??In this episode, we share our thoughts on keeping our “team” small and not going down the path of hiring more people. We’re not saying hiring people is bad, but for us, managing people and the stress that comes along with it is not worth it at this time in our businesses. We DO have a few freelancers we work with on an ongoing basis. It’s a very low-stress and minimal interaction relationship with those people, which feels nice and calm. We’ve experienced having a bigger team before and it was stressssssful

  • 209 - Will this content batching plan work??

  • 208 - A BIG shift in our content focus

    13/06/2024 Duración: 45min

After spending many years with an unfocused audience and nebulous problem we solve, we *THINK* we’ve finally landed on the right answer for our core business…. maybe? One thing we know for sure, we’ve always operated Wandering Aimfully as generalists. We can help with email marketing, copywriting, branding, etc. Sure, we were always trying to help small business owners who care about being intentional, but that was very unclear and made our lives difficult when it came to positioning ourselves and our core product. In this episode, we share our NEW content focus, which also presented a more niched-down audience focus too. We hope that hearing us talking it out in real-time can help you to better focus your core audience or problem your business solves.Lots of (fun) changes coming to our Wandering Aimfully website and content very soon! Our YouTube channel: https://youtube.com/wanderingaimfully Framer (aff link): https://bit.ly/jasonframer ***⚙️ Give Teachery a try today for free! • 205 - How video went, what content goes where, scrapping our goals

    23/05/2024 Duración: 43min

The second week of our 5-week content extravaganza has concluded! We worked on long-form videos for Teachery and learned a ton of lessons (and had to UN-LEARN some well-worn ideas and habits too). There has been ONE clear friction point for us over the years when working together and that’s... Long-form videos. It’s some combination of our two strong creative personalities, along with having different visions for how a video should turn out, and the entire process has always been a bit bumpy for us. But, we really hoped to change that this last week!Through many conversations, many experiments, and just trying to lead with curiosity we feel like we came out of the week WAYYYYY better than expected. Sure, we only finished 2 long-form videos, but our goal was 3, so we’re happy about that. Enjoy listening to us recap our experience and we hope it helps you re-think a current spot where you might be in your business.

  • 204 - How we’re thinking about Teachery VIDEO content

    16/05/2024 Duración: 52min

Our 5-week content EXTRAVAGANZA is underway! We recap how our first week of creating short-form 60-second vertical videos went and give you a preview of what’s to come this week as we pivot to long-form YouTube content for Teachery. If you didn’t listen to last week’s episode, we’re embarking on a 5-week content journey to get back into the groove of posting content to grow our audiences for Teachery and Wandering Aimfully (publishing starts in 1 month). We set a goal of creating 10 short-form videos last week and we ended up with… 6! We’re actually happy with that result because we’re very new to short-form video creation and have been on a 3-year break from any short-form content creation

  • 203 - Our short-form content plan for Teachery (TikTok, Reels, YouTube Shorts)

    09/05/2024 Duración: 43min

Here we go, folks! We’re back on the short-form video creation train and this week we’re sharing our plan of action for Teachery. We’ve been off social media for 2.5 years, so this is quite the journey! If you missed last week’s episode, we’re embarking on a 5-week content extravaganza

  • 202 - Getting back on social media (steal our content plan)

    02/05/2024 Duración: 50min

Bring on the 5-week content EXTRAVAGANZAAAA! We are getting back in the content creation saddle for the first time in almost 3 years. We’ve only been creating “nurture” content for the entirety of our WAIM business and that’s about to change! This week, we’re kicking off a big content creation project for both WAIM and Teachery. Now, Teachery is a bit easier because it’s has NEVER had content created for it (not a single article, social post, etc). But, before we just start creating content willy-nilly, we wanted to come up with a framework to make sure we’re creating the right content for the right purpose. Is our content just nurturing an existing audience? Or is our content discoverable and helping us grow our audience? Enter our… Content Salad MATRIX. We cover the two different formats of content (Long and Short) and the two different types of content (Find and Nurture). From there, we share our plan for the next 5 weeks and what type of content goes where. We’ll fully acknowledge there is a lot to unpack i

  • 201 - We fell short of our launch goals. What did we learn?

    25/04/2024 Duración: 38min

We LOVE a launch recap episode! And as two people who value transparency and honesty in the online business world, we hope you appreciate this one because our latest launch (Spring 2024) didn’t quite hit the mark. Now, we want to be 100% clear: We are not upset by a 6-figure launch. There is nothing to complain about or shed a tear about. However, there is a reality to reaching a certain level of revenue with our launches and then not hitting that same level after raising our price (for the first time in 5 years). We hope you get a few takeaways from this episode if you’ve had a lackluster launch and see it the same way we do; as an opportunity to improve and create a new baseline for the future! ***⚙️ Give Teachery a try today for free! • 200 - Untold stories!

    18/04/2024 Duración: 57min

Join us this week as we celebrate episode #200 of this podcast by sharing a few untold (maybe just lesser known?) stories from our entrepreneurial pasts. We each picked a few stories for the other to share without telling them ahead of time — fun!In some ways it feels like we’ve recorded 200+ episodes of this podcast, but in other ways, it kind of feels like we’re just getting started. Whether you are listening to your first episode or have been with us since the start, we appreciate you so much

  • 199 - The truth about working with your spouse

    11/04/2024 Duración: 01h15min

We’ve been working together in some capacity for almost 15 years! In that time, we’ve learned how to communicate, navigate each other’s emotions, but we still run into difficult moments like we did this week.In this episode, we want to share our experience as a couple who works together (on two businesses!) but also how you can apply some of our lessons to running your own business, whether you have a partner or work with freelancers (or just on your own!)We’re going to talk about the importance of having more discussions that you think you need, how to navigate perfectionism (over and over again), communicating during rough patches, and recommitting to your values.***⚙️ Give Teachery a try today for free! How do you sort them, prioritize them,  and schedule them? Thanks to listener Leah W. for submitting this week’s podcast topic! This is a timely one for us as of recording because we’re overflowing with ideas for our two businesses (Teachery and Wandering Aimfully). We’ll cover our signature “Big Ass List™” and then go through the steps to get your ideas out of your head and planned on your calendar to get done in a methodical way.
