The Ghouls are all back together again! Will is back from the dead, and we all saw Jordan’s Peele’s sophomore horror feature US. There is a very brief spoiler free review before we get into a deep discussion about the socio political themes that are subliminally in the message of the movie and its exploration of how trauma can change a person. It’s not all serious; we talk about the fun Easter eggs Peele sprinkled throughout and our favorite kills! Before we get into that, Alexz basically spent her weekend at the cinema watching French genre films; Yann Gonzalez’s highly stylized slasher KNIFE AND HEART, Gaspar Noe’s psychedelic horror CLIMAX, and a midnight screening of 70s sci-fi movie FANTASTIC PLANET. Jeanette and Will were festive for St Patrick's Day and saw the new LEPRECHAUN. Will is rewatching all of GAME OF THRONES to prepare for the final season. Jeanette wants to go see BEETLEJUICE on Broadway. She also saw THE GIRL WITH ALL THE GIFTS and mentions its similarity to acclaimed video game LAST OF US,

Will is still trapped in another spiritual plane, but the rest of the Ghouls still got together for a quick conjuring. In this minisode they talk about spooky themed games of all kinds; Jeanette wants to get Sims 4: Vampires, Alexz has been playing Lairs of Fear, and Ashley wants to get Kingdom Hearts 3 and Resident Evil 2 Remake even though she’s still too scared to play Until Dawn by herself. They also reminisce about board games like Life: Disney Haunted Mansion edition, Goosebumps, and make plans for a live episode playing Horror Trivial Pursuit. At the end they play a couple quick horror themed quizzes: “How Long Would You Last in a Horror Movie?” “What’s this Horror Movie Tagline” and “Which Horror Villain Are You?” Thanks for tuning into this minisode!

Will isn’t present for this episode, but he was definitely there in spirit. For the main discussion, the Ghouls weigh in on Lee Cronin's debut feature THE HOLE IN THE GROUND. Is the title a misdirect? Are there enough scares? Were they left with more questions than answers? But before they get into that...Jeanette walked in on Will watching the THE DESCENT. Alexz binged on genre all day and watched THE MUMMY, THE MUMMY RETURNS, HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL and THIRTEEN GHOSTS. Ashley has nothing but praise for season 3 of TRUE DETECTIVE. Ari Aster’s upcoming horror film MIDSOMMAR finally gets a summer release date and A24 shared some creepy promotional images to go along with it. Alexz and Ashley were impressed by Eli Roth’s HISTORY OF HORROR, plus there's a random tangent about how horrible some of the Oscar wins were this year. This week, the ghouls recap and review one of the most notable Christmas horror films in recent times: Michael Dougherty's KRAMPUS (2015). Before they dive in to discuss killer toys, gingerbread-men and rednecks, the gang recaps the holiday horrors of their weekend. Jeanette, Will and Ashley were scammed on Saturday by a Christmas themed mini amusement park in Long Island, NY. Alexz attended two white elephant parties and walked away with an advent calendar containing only cardboard and plastic, which prompted her to spend the rest of the weekend binge watching holiday movies, including SILENT NIGHT DEADLY NIGHT (1984). Will and Ashley were enamored with Yorgos Lanthimos’ THE FAVOURITE (2018). The Ghouls are back from their week long break. Some of us were spiraling, but we made it out alive on the other side! Jeanette saw OVERLORD and she gives a quick review, Ashley and Alexz saw FANTASTIC BEASTS: CRIMES OF GRINDELWALD and both had a lukewarm reaction, and Will convinces Ashley to watch LOVE ACTUALLY and get into the Christmas spirit. Haunt Season is officially over! Everyone recaps their Halloween night. Ashley is already being a grinch and the gang considers excommunicating Alexz for saying Christmas is her favorite holiday.
