Christians have been guilty of an over emphasis on doctrine, dogma & theology, & an under emphasis on the inner life. Because of this, doctrinal correctness and creedal purity have become a huge distraction from true spirituality, and our vigilance against the heresies of the head have caused us to ignore heresies of the heart. Secular people don't understand religious people, and vice-versa. So we can't even talk anymore, it's like we're from two different planets. Christians have isolated and created their own little sub-culture, and it looks so strange to outside observers. Hey everybody's weird... nobody's normal. But there is a unique brand of christian weirdness... you know what I'm talking about. Is it really necessary?

It's hard to be around negative nagging people. We tend to avoid them whenever possible. So why have Christians felt that nagging and finger wagging is a good strategy? There's gotta be a better way.
